An idea can change the future. HACKATHON is now open for university/college students and professionals who has great problem-solving ideas for the Earth and Space.

 

HACKATHON participants need to present a concrete solution, actual prototype or demo and utilizing NASA’s open data source.

FAQ 

Q : What is the difference between Hackathon & Ideathon?

A : HACKATHON (2 days Hackathon - physical participation at the venue) participants need to present a concrete solution or utilizing NASA’s open data source.

IDEATHON (Online participation) does not require participants to present a concrete solution or utilizing NASA’s open data source as long as you have great problem-solving ideas for the Earth and Space.

Q : Can I participate to both Hackathon & Ideathon? 

A : You can choose one, or both Hackathon & Ideathon to participate! terms and condition applies as below.

*Hackathon registration will only limit to the first 300 participants.

*If participants are selected into Top 10 in Ideathon, participants then need to choose either one challenge to participate, either Ideathon or Hackathon.

 

 

Q : Can I participate even though I am not Coder?
A : Everyone can participate. If you are not Coder, you might want to participate to IDEATHON! Beginners, students, experts, engineers, makers, artists, storytellers -- Space Apps is for you! We welcome all passionate problem solvers to join our community of innovators.

 

 

Q : How many members can we have in a team?
A : The team will be 5 members maximum. We particularly encourage you to meet and collaborate with new people who have very different skills from yours. Bringing together very diverse skills and talents is often a key to breakthrough innovation!

 

 

Q : How to register as the team?

A : Please register individually regardless you participate as a team or individual. The team registration will open after Opening ceremony. 

 

 

Q : What/Who is the Challenge / Award / Judge / Mentor?

Q: Do you have People's Choice award this year?

A : Unfortunately we don't have this year.

Q : What should I bring to Space Apps Challenge?
A : Bring your laptop and whatever you need for hacking.

 

 

Q : What is the minimum age to be able to attend this hackathon in KL location?

A : Hackathon, Ideathon is open for university/college students and professionals for KL location. 

Q : I’m planning to stay over at venue. Do I need to bring anything?

A : Unfortunately the venue is not open for stay over. The door will close at 10:00 pm on 20 October 2018, Saturday.
